For early years and childcare services

Early years policies, kept current and read

Giraft helps childcare providers keep the written policies, procedures and statements their service holds current, reviewed on time, read by staff, and ready to show at inspection.

Giraft is live in Irish schools. Early years services have their own regulations and their own inspection, and Giraft doesn't write early years policies or hold an early years list. What it does today is keep the record around the policies you have: review dates, sign-off and staff acknowledgement. If that would help your service, talk to us.

The problem

Policy-heavy, admin-light

Early years services are often policy-heavy and admin-light. The owner or manager is juggling staff, parents, ratios, inspections, incidents and training — while keeping a live policy folder current.

The problem is not knowing that policies matter. The problem is finding the time to keep them current, reviewed, communicated and evidenced.

When the inspector asks for a policy, its review date, and proof your team has read it, it should be one place, not a scramble.

What Giraft gives you

One register, kept current

One place for your service's policies, procedures and statements: when each is due for review, who signed it off, and which staff have read it.

How it works

Map. Review. Approve. Publish. Evidence.

  1. 1

    Map

A register of the policies, procedures and statements your service holds.

  2. 2

    Review

A review date on every policy, so you can see what is due and what is overdue.

  3. 3

    Approve

Sign-off by the people you choose, each by personal link, recorded against the version and the date.

  4. 4

    Publish

Current policies on a page for staff and, where needed, for parents.

  5. 5

    Evidence

A record of each policy's status, review date, sign-off and staff acknowledgements.

The evidence layer

Each policy signed off in Giraft is sealed to the version and the date, carries its review date, and records which staff have acknowledged it.

  • A register of your service's policies
  • Review dates and overdue flags
  • Sign-off, dated
  • Staff acknowledgement captured
  • A record you can download

Giraft began in Irish schools. Early years is a different regulatory world: Giraft doesn't write early years policies, and it holds no early years list. The register, sign-off, sealing and staff acknowledgement work today.

Questions

Is the content specific to early years, or adapted from schools?

Giraft doesn't write early years policies. You bring your own, and Giraft manages their review, sign-off and staff acknowledgement. We will not pass off school policies as childcare policies.

How does Giraft help at inspection?

Each policy signed off in Giraft is sealed to the version and the date, carries its review date, and records which staff have acknowledged it.

Does Giraft replace my Tusla policies and procedures?

No. You remain the registered provider responsible for their content. Giraft keeps the record of review, sign-off and staff acknowledgement around them.
