3. Reporting Procedures

J. O'Connor (Deputy)

“The escalation path here doesn't mention the DLP by name. Should it?”

Giraft · suggested reply

The DLP is named in §1 and referenced in the cross-section flow. Children First Act 2015 §14 establishes the role; we already point to it.

5. Online Safeguarding

M. Walsh (Parent)

“Could you spell out what 'inappropriate use' means in this section?”

Giraft · suggested reply

Reasonable ask — current wording is general. Suggest substituting a definition with concrete examples (filters, messaging apps, confidential material).

7. Staff Training

A. Murphy (Chair)

“Annual refresher is good. We should specify Garda vetting renewal too.”

Giraft · suggested reply

Vetting cycle (Garda Vetting Bureau, every 3 years) is named under §6. We can cross-link from §7 for clarity.

What Giraft does · 3 of 7

One-click edits in response to comments.

When you'd rather change the text than defend it, Giraft drafts the exact change. Red strike, green replacement — exactly what would change. One click to apply, every change recorded against the comment that triggered it.

PENDING

Giraft: “The reviewer is asking for clarity on what counts as inappropriate use. Substituting a definition with examples should resolve.”

−Inappropriate use of school technology will be addressed under this policy.
+Inappropriate use — including unauthorised messaging apps, sharing of confidential material, or attempts to bypass content filters — is addressed under this policy.

Cryptographic seal. Full audit trail.

A policy your board approves in Giraft carries its history: who voted, what they said, every edit applied and the comment that prompted it. The approved words and the votes are sealed with a SHA-256 fingerprint that anyone can check outside Giraft. When an inspector asks how a policy came to be, you hand them the record.

Once a policy is published, you send it to your staff with one click. Every teacher, SNA and admin gets a personal link — no accounts, no apps. They read, type their name and acknowledge it. About an afternoon. Locked DEY-mandated policies (Child Safeguarding Statement, Admissions, CCTV) interpolate your school details into the statutory template — minutes. Generated policies (Data Protection, Health & Safety) take 30–90 seconds for Giraft to draft, then run through review, Board approval, and seal at your pace.

Three ways to start a policy. National templates are DEY-mandated structures (e.g. Child Safeguarding Statement) you can't deviate from — Giraft fills your school details in. Giraft templates are our curated catalogue, drafted from Irish education law and refined with school feedback. Your own is anything you upload. All three feed into the same review, approval, audit, and re-seal pipeline.

Yes. Send a circulation round to anyone — staff, parents, board members — and every comment lands in one panel beside the policy text. Giraft suggests a reply or an edit for each comment, you decide which to accept, and every action is recorded against the comment that triggered it.
